Here at Texas Marimbas, we’ve standardized our 3-octave practice marimbas on two models, one of which is the Marimba Warehouse MPM 3-octave practice marimba. Here are a few of the reasons we love this practice marimba.
- Marimba Warehouse MPMs are built like little tanks with thick Padouk bars and a solid Baltic birch frame. We rarely have issues with Marimba Warehouse bars, frames, or other components. This is extremely important for us as we move them frequently between homes which can add to the wear-and-tear. We have some of the first Marimba Warehouse MPM marimbas, probably from 2003-2004 that still sound great.
- Marimba Warehouse was launched in 2002 from a small warehouse near Houston TX so their Texas roots are deep, same as Texas Marimbas. Since their launch, they’ve been very successful in the Texas education market so there are tons of used marimbas available to purchase. When growing as fast as we have it was important to find a good supply of marimbas readily available vs waiting for them to be manufactured We generally buy them used on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist but you can also purchase them new on Music and Arts or Musicians Friend for $1600.
- Marimba Warehouse is a well-known brand among Texas percussion instructors so they are comfortable knowing we rent a marimba with a long history of success and performance. This also makes is easier to sell used if you own one and need to sell it in the future.
if you are considering purchasing or renting a marimba for a novice percussionist, the Marimba Warehouse MPM is a great option. They are readily available, nice sounding, solid and well-known.
