Marimba Cleaning and Maintenance
Texas Marimbas is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a part-time marimba cleaning and maintenance technician. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of the fastest-growing percussion rental service in Texas. While no experience with marimbas is required, exposure to band or percussion instruments is definitely a plus.
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that our marimbas are in excellent condition, properly cleaned and maintained for our percussionists. This role involves handling delicate instruments with care and attention to detail, conducting routine maintenance, and performing repairs as needed. We will provide all the training necessary for the candidate to be successful in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean marimbas to ensure they are free of dust, dirt, and debris to maintain a bright, clear sound and visually appealing appearance.
- Inspect and perform basic maintenance tasks such as replacing bars, restringing and tightening loose parts.
- Maintain the marimba inventory and database including their maintenance history, and any parts replaced or repaired.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail with ability to identify areas that require cleaning or maintenance.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are crucial for maintaining a consistent cleaning schedule.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and efficiently manage time to complete tasks within assigned schedules.
- Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Background in band or percussion instruments a plus but not required.
Working Conditions:
- This position will require lifting of marimbas in excess of 40lbs.
- Work is done in our workshop located in Grapevine, TX.
- Hours are flexible, generally 5-20 hours per week.
